Water filtration in Novi, Michigan.
Whole-home softening, filtration, and RO drinking water for Novi homes, starting at $3,499 on city water. A fraction of the brand-name price, no in-home sales pitch.
Novi is a fast-growing, affluent community where new construction and family neighborhoods sit on the same hard GLWA water as the rest of the region.
What Novi homes are dealing with
Novi's rapid growth means a lot of newer homes, but new construction doesn't soften your water. Hard-water scale on brand-new fixtures and water heaters is the common complaint we hear here. Novi is also home base for us.
Whatever your situation, the fix is the same honest approach: we pull the public data on your water, tell you exactly what your home needs, and install it on a schedule that works for you, for a transparent starting price.
What we install in Novi
- Whole-home softener and carbon filtration off your main line, our whole-home system starting at $3,499 for city-water homes.
- Under-sink reverse osmosis for the cleanest drinking water and your PFAS answer.
Locally owned, insured, and accountable
Every Novi install is handled by an experienced Michigan installer. We're insured, our equipment is NSF-certified, and the price we agree is the price you pay.
Novi's water supply, on the record
Novi is served by the Lake Huron Water Treatment Plant in Port Huron, with a smaller share from Springwells, treating water drawn from the lower Lake Huron watershed. The water is bought direct from GLWA. That is published in Novi's 2025 Water Quality Report.
Novi's 2025 Water Quality Report does not include a hardness figure: hardness is unregulated, so cities are not required to publish it, and many do not. What neighbouring communities on the same GLWA plants do publish sits around 100 mg/L, roughly 6 grains per gallon — the "hard" band. Rather than quote a number for your house that nobody measured, we read the published data for your supply and tell you what it does and does not say.
Homes on private wells are a different story. USGS-held well samples for Oakland County — 460 samples across 346 wells — have a median of about 290 mg/L, roughly 17 grains per gallon, with half between 15 and 20 grains and 90 per cent in the USGS "very hard" band. That is our calculation from USGS records. It is why well systems are sized and priced separately from city-water systems.
Common questions about water in Novi
How much does a water softener cost in Novi, MI?
A whole-home water softener with carbon filtration is $3,499 installed for a standard city-water home in Novi, taxes and professional installation included. Under-sink reverse osmosis is available as an upgrade, ask about it on your call.
How hard is the water in Novi?
Novi's city water comes from the Great Lakes Water Authority, and Novi's 2025 Water Quality Report publishes no hardness figure — hardness is unregulated, so reporting it is voluntary. The GLWA plants serving the city publish 99 to 116 mg/L, roughly 6 to 7 grains per gallon, which the USGS calls moderately hard. If you are on a private well, expect far harder water: USGS well samples for Oakland County run a median near 290 mg/L, about 17 grains.
Do you have to come to my Novi home to give me a quote?
No. We never send a salesperson to your Novi home. The water quality data for your municipal supply is already public, so we pull it, build you a free water assessment, and walk you through it on one honest phone call. If you want a price, you get the complete number on that call. No in-home appointment, no three-hour pitch, no pressure.
How soon can you install a water softener in Novi?
Most Novi installs are finished in a single visit by an experienced Michigan installer. You get the complete price agreed before we start, with nothing added afterwards.
Is Novi on city water or well water?
Novi is a Great Lakes Water Authority community, so homes here are on treated municipal water rather than private wells. That makes the quote simple: we read the published water quality data for your supply, and there is nothing to test on site.
