Whole house water filtration and softener installation.
One system treats every tap in your house, softening the water and filtering out chlorine and chemicals.
What does a whole-home system actually do?
It softens and filters every tap in the house from one point on your main line. The softener removes the hardness minerals that scale fixtures and water heaters; the carbon tank handles chlorine, taste and smell. Installed, it starts at $3,499 for a standard city-water home, taxes included.

A whole house water filtration system with a softener starts at $3,499 from Michigan Water Pros for a standard city-water home, taxes and professional installation included. This is the system most Metro Detroit homes need, and it's the same one the brand-name guys sell for two to four times the price. It installs off your main water line, so the better water reaches every faucet, shower, and appliance in the house.
What's actually in it
A single tank holds four media layers, with the control valve on top and the brine (salt) tank beside it:
- Jacobi coconut-shell carbon removes chlorine and chemicals first, protecting the resin and fixing taste and smell.
- ResinTech CG10 resin does the ion exchange that softens your water, better for hair, skin, appliances, and your water heater.
- NSF-certified gravel underbed anchors the system.
- EnPress fiberglass tank, the most premium vessel in the industry.

What it costs
About starting at $3,499, taxes included, for a standard city-water home. A comparable system from the brand-name guys runs $5,000 to $12,000.

How it gets installed
An experienced Michigan installer connects the system at your main line on a date we agree with you. Most installs are clean basement or garage jobs. If your home has a tougher setup, we tell you the adjusted price before any work starts, never after.
Maintenance is simple
Keep two to three bags of salt in the brine tank and check it every few months. Salt is about $7 a bag. The softener has no filters to change; it self-cleans during regeneration. The RO filters get swapped about once a year.
Common questions
How long does a water softener installation take?
Most standard city-water installs are completed in a single visit, and we book your date when you order. Basement and garage installs are the most common.
Salt-based softener vs salt-free conditioner, what's the difference?
A salt-based softener actually removes the hardness minerals (calcium and magnesium) through ion exchange. Salt-free 'conditioners' don't remove hardness, they only change how scale behaves. For Metro Detroit's roughly 6 grains per gallon, a true salt-based softener is the fix.
How much maintenance does the system need?
Keep two to three bags of salt in the brine tank and check it every few months, salt runs about $7 a bag. The softener self-cleans during regeneration, so there are no filters to change on the main tank. The RO filters get swapped about once a year.
What is included in the $3,499 starting price?
For a standard city-water home: the whole-home softening and carbon filtration tank, brine tank, professional installation by an experienced Michigan installer, and taxes. Ask about the under-sink reverse osmosis upgrade on your call.
