Reverse osmosis: your PFAS and great-taste answer.

An RO unit under your kitchen sink with its own dedicated faucet. It removes everything, then adds back the good minerals so your water tastes clean, not flat.

What does reverse osmosis do that a softener cannot?

Reverse osmosis treats drinking water at one tap, pushing it through a membrane that catches what softening and carbon leave behind, including PFAS and heavy metals. It is an upgrade to a whole-home system rather than a replacement for it, and it is the system we recommend for drinking and cooking water.

A reverse osmosis system removes PFAS, lead, and dissolved solids from your drinking water at the kitchen tap, and it's available as an upgrade with any Michigan Water Pros whole-home install. Think of it as a water-bottle vending machine built into your house, with a second faucet (color-matched to your existing one) just for the water you actually drink and cook with. Your regular faucet still handles the dishes; this one is for drinking, cooking, and washing produce.

Why it matters in Michigan

Reverse osmosis is the reliable removal path for PFAS, the "forever chemicals" Michigan is a national hotspot for, along with heavy metals like lead. It's the single most important upgrade for your drinking water given what's in the local supply.

What's behind the faceplate

  • A pre-carbon filter (like a large fridge filter).
  • The RO membrane, which removes essentially everything, including TDS.
  • A post-carbon filter with built-in alkaline remineralization, so the water isn't stripped flat.
On TDS: RO removes all of it, the bad stuff included. Then the alkaline filter adds back the good kind, calcium and magnesium your body actually wants. So a higher number after remineralization is a good thing, not a bad one.

Compact, and it shows

The unit is compact under the sink and looks clean. It's a near-automatic yes for most customers because it's inexpensive to add while we're already installing your whole-home system. Ask about it on your quote call.
